Recording of the seminar „Protecting biodiversity and antiparasitics“ + GUIDE

On Saturday 27 May we held our first seminar for farmers on gentle deworming. Keeping a healthy herd free of parasites is a priority for every farmer. With the right combination of less harmful antiparasitics, however, it can be done without harming biodiversity. The most commonly used substances, such as ivermectin, kill not only parasites but also many beneficial organisms - for example coprophagous insects, which feed on dung and are therefore an important part of a well-functioning pasture. You can learn more about the importance of coprophages and how to prevent biodiversity loss without putting your animals at risk in the seminar recordings. On this page you will also find a how-to guide based on the recommendations of British entomologist and farmer Dr Sarah Beynon.

The Biodiversity Protection and Antiparasitics seminar was financially supported by VÚB banka.
