Ovosad Myjava received the Farma živá award in 2025.
Ovosad Myjava farms 340 hectares around the town of Myjava. Of this, 190 ha is arable land and 150 ha are fruit orchards scattered across the region. All production is organic, and the arable land is farmed using no-till methods.
Fruit and orchards
At Ovosad they grow a wide range of fruit: apples, pears, cherries, plums, apricots, sour cherries, currants, aronia, blackberries and rose hips. Their orchards are diverse – from modern production plantings with irrigation, protective netting and managed bumblebees to old orchards of great landscape value with mighty trees of old varieties. Every tree and every plot is unique, and extensive cultivation helps them adapt to the changing climate.
Pick-your-own and products
Part of the orchards is set aside for pick-your-own, where customers can pick fruit straight from the tree. Besides fresh fruit, they make juices, pressed apple juice, jams, fruit butters and dried fruit, mostly without added sugar.
