La Borinka received the Farma živá award in 2025.

La Borinka is located in the narrow valley of the Stupavský potok stream near Borinka – a place where the proximity of the forest and the stream creates a unique microclimate for growing flowers organically. Colourful strips of beds stretch from the house to the edge of the forest, where they continue onto terraces of old fields.

What they grow

The farm offers 50–60 species of seasonal perennials and annuals, including flowers suitable for drying. They grow only species that naturally thrive in this environment – without synthetic fertilisers or pesticides, and without trying to rescue plants that cannot cope with local conditions.

The farm offers fresh bouquets, wedding and event arrangements, guided pick-your-own sessions, workshops on growing and arranging flowers, and buckets full of flowers for your own decorating.

How they work

At La Borinka they don't plough the soil, they only loosen it. They use compost, organic fertilisers and plant teas, mulch the beds with grass and wood chips, leave pest control to natural biodiversity such as ladybirds, and keep part of the land “wilder” so that insects can find refuge there.

The whole garden works as a small, semi-natural ecosystem that can regenerate itself, for example after summer heatwaves. The farm is built on the principles of responsibility and seasonality. The flowers grow in harmony with the place, without chemicals, with respect for the landscape and for future generations. The result is authentic, fragrant bouquets with a minimal environmental footprint.
